Waay TMI...

... for you, that is.

Without all the gory details, let me just say this: Love at first sight is, apparently, totally possible.

I realized this afternoon that I didn't just -like- a certain someone, but that I'd fallen in love. Fallen. Quickly, apparently. But, for a series of reasons, not least of which was that we barely spent any time together, I never quite connected the dots. (And yes, I know... how can you love someone you hardly know? Seemingly common sense, logical questions exactly like that one kept me in the dark. Hearts apparently are illogical.)

The realization of being in love was promptly followed by my little heart breaking. The certain someone cannot/will not/does not share the same feelings (it's complicated).

Yes, fine, emotional progress... a good thing, and all that. But not so fun while writing a report in the middle of the office at 2 in the afternoon.

Oh, dear! Sorry your heart was broken... but love is always a good thing in the long run, isn't it? Opens the heart and expands the mind.

Oh, I'm sorry! Sounds like quite a rollercoaster ride!

The heart wants what it wants.

What a roller coaster of a day! Love is good. Unrequited love is not. I'm sorry it was not.

Wow, that's intense: the discovery and the the heartbreak, all in one day at the office!

I hope your heart recovers -- or maybe that your beloved discovers a path back to you at some point.

Thank you all for the support.

Love -is- always a good thing, and even though we didn't know each other long (hardly at all!), I received many gifts from having known her. She'll never know about them, but I do, and that will have to be enough!

"The heart wants what it wants." Amen. Illogical, flighty, opinionated, and necessary organ that it is...

Inky & BSG: It was pretty intense. One minute, writing up a site report. Next minute, whammo. My subconscious needs to learn better timing. It was actually a bit of a relief, as a bunch of pieces fell together -- until I realized I'd fallen in love, my heart couldn't break, and I couldn't heal. My heart will recover, a little bit scarred, but that's ok. Adds character!

A little wisdom from a friend's Facebook profile (freaky timing or what?):

"Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened."

It's funny how these things happen when you least expect them.

Wonderful that you're open to the feelings, even if they hurt.
